Papaya Planter

Wheel-thrown speckled stoneware | 4.5" diameter × 3.5" tall | Includes drainage plate | Oregon clay

Your plant deserves better than a plastic nursery pot. You know this. We know this. The plant definitely knows this.

This round, belly-forward little planter was wheel-thrown in my Portland studio from speckled Oregon stoneware clay and finished in Papaya — a warm, sun-baked glaze that shifts from sandy blush to soft gold depending on the light and its mood that day. The speckling in the clay shows through like freckles, which only adds to its charm. The form is low and generous, with a gently rolled rim that makes it look like it's been sitting happily on someone's windowsill for decades.

It comes with a matching drainage plate because we believe in doing things properly around here, and also because nobody needs a water ring on their good furniture.

At 4.5" wide and 3.5" tall it's ideal for: small cacti with personality, succulents of all dispositions, a trailing pothos that hasn't quite committed to trailing yet, or that one air plant you keep meaning to water more.

Notice where the glaze breaks at the rim — deepening, shifting, doing something slightly unexpected. That's the kiln's contribution. Hands make the form, but fire makes the decisions.

Plant not included.
