Marigold Planter

$65.00

Wheel-thrown Pioneer Dark stoneware | 5" diameter x 4.25" tall | Oregon clay

Petite but architectural — this one doesn't apologize for taking up space in a small footprint.

This planter was wheel-thrown in my Portland studio from Pioneer Dark, that warm iron-rich stoneware that always has something to say about a glaze. Here it says quite a lot. The golden yellow sits solid and confident up top, then gives way to deep brown breaking through at the base, coming up through the hand-carved dot texture like something rising from underneath. It reads almost retro, the kind of yellow-and-brown pairing that feels pulled from a decade that knew how to commit to a color.

The neck narrows in tight before the body opens back out, giving the whole piece a firm, upright stance despite its small size. It's the kind of planter that looks intentional on a windowsill even before anything is planted in it.

Measures approximately 5" in diameter and 4.25" tall.

One of a kind. This exact break between gold and brown happens only once.
