Deep teal bowl, crackle glaze running across the surface like it has somewhere to be. Cream feathers ruffled underneath — the only soft thing about him. Near-black legs, planted, completely unbothered. He picked a color and committed. He did not look back.
He didn't try. That's the whole point.
