Conversations in Clay

  • Chehalem Cultural Center 415 E Sheridan St Newberg, OR 97132 United States (map)

Creating with clay is a collaborative process—one that begins with a dialogue between the artist and the material. While the final work may bear the artist’s name, it’s the subtle exchange with the clay that shapes the outcome. But this is only the beginning of the conversation. When the potter and the clay are in harmony, the kiln and glaze continue the dialogue, adding their own voices to the finished piece.

This exhibition is a reflection of those layered conversations. It is our hope that the exchange continues—when a mug warms your hands with tea, when a vase graces your kitchen with daffodils, or when a ceramic sculpture sparks a quiet moment of reflection. Each piece invites an ongoing dialogue between maker, material, and viewer.
